This statement sets out our approach to identifying, preventing, and addressing risks of modern slavery in our business and supply chains.

Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy

We have a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, and child labour in any part of our operations or supply chains. We expect the same high standards from everyone we work with, including employees, agency workers, subcontractors, suppliers, and business partners.

All commercial decisions are made with regard to the potential risk of exploitation. Any evidence or reasonable suspicion of modern slavery linked to our business will result in immediate investigation and, where appropriate, termination of the relevant relationship and reporting to the appropriate authorities.

Our Business and Supply Chains

Man with Van Battersea provides local and regional removal, transport, and related services. Our supply chains include vehicle hire and maintenance providers, fuel suppliers, equipment and materials suppliers, and providers of temporary labour or support services.

We recognise that some areas of the transport and logistics sector can be vulnerable to labour exploitation. We therefore place particular emphasis on ensuring that our recruitment practices, subcontracting arrangements, and supplier relationships uphold the highest ethical standards.

Policies and Governance

Our zero-tolerance position on modern slavery is supported by internal policies covering ethical conduct, recruitment, supplier management, and whistleblowing. These policies apply to all employees and are communicated as part of induction and ongoing management processes.

Managers are responsible for promoting awareness of these policies and for escalating any concerns. We are committed to acting transparently and to continuously improving our approach as best practices and legal requirements evolve.

Supplier Due Diligence and Audits

We strive to work only with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to preventing modern slavery. As part of our due diligence processes, we assess suppliers based on their reputation, compliance history, and approach to labour standards.

Where appropriate, we request confirmation of their own modern slavery measures and may require written assurances or policy documentation. We reserve the right to conduct audits or request audits of significant suppliers, particularly where there is a higher risk of labour exploitation. Failure by a supplier to demonstrate adequate controls or to remediate identified issues may lead to the suspension or termination of the business relationship.

Training and Awareness

We aim to ensure that relevant staff understand the signs of modern slavery and know how to respond to concerns. Training and guidance are focused on those involved in recruitment, supplier selection, and contract management, as well as operational staff who may be in a position to identify potential issues.

Awareness materials emphasise our zero-tolerance policy, the importance of vigilance, and the need to report concerns promptly and responsibly.

Reporting Concerns and Safe Channels

All employees, workers, and suppliers are encouraged to speak up if they have any concerns that someone associated with our operations may be a victim of modern slavery or related exploitation. Concerns can be raised directly with line managers or senior management, or through internal reporting mechanisms made available to staff.

Reports are treated seriously and, wherever possible, confidentially. We will not tolerate any form of retaliation against a person who raises a concern in good faith. Where appropriate, we will cooperate with law enforcement and other authorities in investigating allegations.

Monitoring, Review, and Continuous Improvement

We are committed to regularly reviewing the effectiveness of our approach to modern slavery. This statement, along with our supporting policies and procedures, will be reviewed at least annually by senior management, or sooner if there are significant changes in legislation, our operations, or identified risks.

Through this review process, we will consider feedback from staff, suppliers, and stakeholders, reflect on any incidents or near misses, and identify opportunities to strengthen our controls, training, and due diligence. We will update this statement as necessary to reflect improvements and ensure it remains accurate and relevant.
